Sludgy shit is my jam. I love wading through harsh noise and crunchy bass to find a killer melody. WRITER, a duo of brothers James and Andy Ralph based in Brooklyn, follows through on the idea, putting together “IE,” which sounds like prom on a handful of downers and turned to 11.

The track is the A-side for the I Make Neon 7″ that drops digitally on August 6 via Nineteen98. The album art for digital single is also a pretty sweet databent GIF. There really isn’t much more to say about all of this — “IE” is a simple song that’s distorted nicely and hits the right spots. Check out the track below.
